Get to Know BYU’s Visiting Recruits

The Potential Flips

Sione Finau (see-OH-nay FEE-now), SS/CB, 5’11”, 170 lbs, Kearns, UT

About: Tremendous athlete at Kearns H.S.; played RB & DB, rushing for 1160 yards & 16 TDs and recording 88 tackles (8 for loss, 2 sacks)
Status: 80% chance of BYU commitment. Current Oregon State commit, but really loves BYU’s coaching staff; I’d be surprised if he DOESN’T flip to BYU; Mission first

Simi Fehoko (SEE-mee feh-HOE-koe), WR, 6’4″, 183 lbs, Salt Lake City, UT

About: 4-star WR; ranked #19 WR in the country; teammates with Jackson Kaufusi & Drew Jensen; close friends with Reno Mahe
Status: 30% chance of BYU commitment. Current Stanford commit, but BYU is making a strong push; a change of commitment is not out of the question, but Simi may choose the safer route, signing with Stanford now and leaving the option open to change his mind and switch to BYU post-mission depending on the success of the two programs; Mission first

Johnny Maea (mah-EY-uh), OT, 6’5″, 280 lbs, Salt Lake City, UT

About: 3-star OT; ranked #1 OT in the state of Utah; played for East H.S.; visiting BYU Thurs-Fri; visiting Utah Fri-Sun
Status: 50% chance of BYU commitment. Current Utah commit; will decide between Utah, Utah State, and BYU; I think he’s the most likely Utah commit to flip to BYU, but the Utes will have the final say

Others on BYU’s Board

Lastly, I’ll take a shot at BYU’s chances of signing four other prospects that are still on the board, but have already visited BYU:

Fua Pututau, DE, Salt Lake City, UT: said to be deciding BYU and Utah; visited BYU 1/15; 50% chance of BYU commitment

Leki Fotu: Utah commit; visited BYU 1/15; 20% chance of BYU commitment

Cole Fotheringham: Utah commit; visited BYU 1/22; 40% chance of BYU commitment

Alemi Pilimai: Utah commit; visited BYU 1/22; 50% chance of BYU commitment

Be sure to check back with Loyal Cougars next week as we reveal the final 2016 Recruiting Class and welcome each player to BYU!

Just a heads up that Morgan’s and Latu’s measurements and hometowns are mixed up. Great info and insight though.
